METHODIST CHURCH

There was a common theme in the two Bible readings on Sunday. Ezekiel, chapter 2, tells of God sending Ezekiel to prophesy to the Israelites who were 'a rebellious nation'. After the rejection in his home town, recorded in Mark 6, Jesus goes out to preach in villages around. He sends his 12 disciples out two by two to preach repentance to the people in the towns of the area.

The message that preacher, Mrs. Ladonna Mallams had, was summed up in two of the hymns - 'We have a gospel to proclaim' so 'Go forth and tell God's message'.

This Sunday morning at 11 am the service will be led by Deacon Garnet.

THOMAS MEMORIAL CHURCH

The service this Sunday at 11 am will be taken by Pastor Peter Morgan. A warm invitation is extended to all.

Hebron Baptist Church

Mr. Anthony Standing gave a warm welcome to the congregation and led the opening worship. Some regular visitors have been attending the church for many years. One young man attended the holiday club at Hebron 11 years ago and at the weekend was celebrating his 21st birthday in Saundersfoot. He plans to visit Uganda in the autumn to work in an orphanage. The church wished him well and Mr. Standing prayed for him at this special time in his life.

The pianist was Miss Helen Standing and the welcome and communion stewards were Mr. and Mrs. Taberer. The speaker was Mr. Anthony Fisher from Worcester. His reading for the day was from Matthew 11v25-12v8.

Mr. Fisher explained to the young people how important it is as they grow up to keep the eager expectation they have as young people. Using a bag of sweets for his illustration, the young people were all eager to hold out their hand and accept what Mr. Fisher offered them. He said: "This is how we should be with Jesus, eager and willing to accept what he offers, a new life and his love and peace and joy for ever."

At the close of the service, Mr. Standing welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Gough into the membership of the church and prayed for the family. Communion was celebrated together.

This Sunday is the 155th church anniversary. The speaker at 11 am will be Rev. Marc Owen from the Baptist Union of Wales. Young people will have their own activities during the message. A warm welcome awaits you. Tuesday club has an end of term event. Mid-week events will be suspended due to the Beach Mission's three week programmes commencing on July 19.
