Saundersfoot branch RNLI
The Saundersfoot Branch of the RNLI held a well attended meeting on February 26 at the Sports and Social Club.
Thanks go to everyone who turned out for the SOS lunch in January - the weather was dreadful, but the support was much appreciated; £200 was the final amount raised.
To Roger and Barbara, many thanks for the soup and cheese, and to keith and Lyn, the music soon warmed everyone's feet and put smiles on faces.
The next fund-raising event, to celebrate the 185th birthday of the RNLI, is the Fish and Chip Supper on March 6 at the Mermaid on the Strand, from 6.30 pm. Please join in; the RNLI has always been funded by the generosity and kindness of its supporters.
The next meeting is at 11 am on Friday, April 3. It will be a short one, followed by the AGM, at the Sports and Social Club. Apologies in writing please to the president.
THOMAS MEMORIAL CHURCH
On Sunday, the family service at 11 am will be conducted by Rev. Tom Torok.
Pastor Pete and June would like to thank all members and friends for their support over the past few weeks. The Pastor looks forward to being back with them in the near future.
METHODIST CHURCH
The common thread running through the three readings appointed for Sunday was, said the preacher, Deacon Janet Jenkins, the love of God.
The Old Testament lesson from Genesis 9, came at the end of the flood. God made a covenant with Noah, his descendants and all living beings, that never again would all the earth be destroyed by a flood.
The preacher suggested that this story of the flood had not been recorded as a warning of God's punishment of wrongdoing, but rather to tell of His saving love and care for all of his creation.
The service on Sunday morning at 11 am will be led by Mr. Graham Passmore. A warm welcome is extended to all.
