Darts: The A team played their last game of the season on Friday. They played at home to the White Horse, Kilgetty, and produced a 5-4 victory to finish the season well. They were cheered on by Billy Deakin, who is recovering from surgery, and it was good to see Billy back again. Tnight (Friday) sees Finals Night being held at the Kilgetty Sports and Social Club. Sea angling: The next match will be held on Sunday, May 13, at Morfa Bychan, Ginst and Pendine, and will be sponsored by Pembrokeshire Scaffolding. Sign on at the Sports Club 8.45-9 am, fishing 10 am - 2 pm, with the weigh-in at the Captains Table, with scales closing at 3 pm prompt. First prize £100; 2. £50. Leaderboard after six matches: 1. James Canton 36 pts; 2. Liam Ridgway 25 pts; 3. Rob Collins 25 pts. Cricket: It was a busy weekend, with games on Saturday and Monday. On Saturday, the first team were away to Llanrhian and won by 24 runs. Batting first, Saundersfoot scored 180-9 in their 45 overs. Top scorer was Simon Stanford (50), ably assisted by Dan Caine (31) and Ian Poole (23). Llanrhian's reply was on track for victory at 129 for 3 when Simon Stanford took over with a bowling spell of 5-23 and the innings fell 24 short at 156 all out. Monday was a different story and Saundersfoot lost by 103 runs to Llangwm. Llangwm batted first, amassing 237 for 6. The Saundersfoot reply started brightly, scoring 66 in the first 10 overs before the first wicket fell, but after that wickets fell at regular intervals and the innings closed at 134. Top scorers were Simon Stanford (48), Paul Mansbridge (27) and Paul Brooks 16 not out. The second team were away to Fishguard on Saturday and came back with a draw. Fishguard scored 208-7, with Grant Hardy 3-36, David Dunifee 2-24 and Sam Butler taking 1-57. Dan Brace was top scorer for Saundersfoot with a fine 54, helped by Toby Smith (25). Saundersfoot held out for the draw at 142 for 7. Monday saw the second team travel away to Llangwm IIIs, where they lost by nine wickets. Batting first, Saundersfoot were dismissed for 60, with only Chris Hawkes (14) and Danny James (17) reaching double figures. Llangwm reached the total easily losing only one wicket. The Under 15s played their first game against a strong Carew team. Saundersfoot scored 55 for 5 in their innings, with top score coming from Sam Franklin (24). Carew passed the total also for the loss of five wickets. The Saundersfoot wicket-takers were David Dunfee 4-14 off four overs and 11- year-old Jack Franklin 1-18. An excellent effort from the young Saundersfoot side who were all under 13-years-old.
