Football: Saturday was the last game of football for Saundersfoot this season. It was the local derby with Kilgetty, and in front of a large crowd, it was Kilgetty who took an early lead through a penalty. It was a fast game, with both sides eager to finish on top. The final result of a 2-2 draw was considered to be a fair one, but unfortunately for Saundersfoot, it meant that Kilgetty finished one point above them in the league. Pool: It was also the last game for the Tenby League pool team. They entertained the Crown, Penally. Although all the games were evenly contested, it was Saundersfoot who finished 6-1 winners. The Crown avoided a whitewash by winning the last frame. The win leaves the Sports Club just above halfway in the league to complete a thoroughly enjoyable season. Cricket: Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the first cricket game of the new season. Both teams are playing Hook, the first team at home and the second team away. Games start at 1.45, so all players are to meet at 12.30 in the club. On Monday, the Under 13s play Llangwm at home, while on Wednesday they play against local rivals Carew at home. Both games start at 6 pm. Training for the Under 13s and Under 11s takes place on the field on Sunday at 11 o'clock. New players are always welcome, with all kit provided by the club. The first team to play on Saturday is as follows: James Caine (capt), Dan Caine, Steve Cole, Ian Poole, Simon Stanford, Paul Mansbridge, Steve Cook, Dickie Parcell, Mike Franklin, Yannic Parker and Chris Parker. The second team is on the notice board in the club. Darts: The B team were again without a game, while the A team played at home against league winners, the Greenbridge Inn, Pendine. It was not a good night for the Saundersfoot team, losing the Masters, the 1001 and the game 9-0 - even the raffle was won by the Greenbridge! Next week, the A team are away to the White Horse A and the B team are at home to local rivals, The Chemist Inn.
