CRICKET
Saundersfoot 1st XI lost at home to an in-form Lamphey team. Batting first, Saundersfoot amassed a total of 166-9 in their 45 overs, a total that proved to be too low on a good batting track. Saundersfoot started well, with Steve Cole (25) and Dickie Parcell (32) adding 50 for the first wicket in only 10 overs. Additional support from Paul Mansbridge (25) and Simon Stanford (23) increased the total, but nobody was able to get on top of the Lamphey bowlers and the innings closed at 166. The opening pair of Rob Mathias and Hywel Gibbs added 87 for the first wicket to give Lamphey an excellent start. Chris Parker (4-45) was the only Saundersfoot bowler to have any success and Lamphey passed the Saundersfoot total in the 42nd over with only the loss of five wickets. Saundersfoot 2nd XI travelled to Stackpole to play their 3rd XI in Division Six. On winning the toss, Stackpole were asked to bat and were soon in trouble, losing three wickets in the first four overs, all to bowler Chris Hawkes. Stackpole had no answer to Saundersfoot attack and were dismissed for 18 runs. Chris Hawkes finished with 5 for 5, Joe Kidney 3 for 8, Richard Thomas 1 for 0, the final wicket being a run out by a direct hit from Joe Kidney. Saundersfoot took just seven overs to pass the Stackpole total, with openers Joe Duffy (16) and Richard Thomas (5) scoring the runs, despite accurate bowling from Stackpole.
