Concerns over shellfish 'harvesting' in Saundersfoot, continue to be raised by residents with local councillors.
County councillor Chris Williams said: “I have received a number of calls about very low tides and people coming to collect razor fish, mussels, and other shellfish.
“Unfortunately, this continues to cause problems for residents in the Glen. Vehicles are blocking access, partially blocking driveways, and, disappointingly, rubbish is often left behind.
“I share residents’ frustration, as progress on this issue has been very slow, despite it being raised many times.”
Despite concerns being raised frequently over the number of people ‘pillaging’ the village’s seabeds, according to Natural Resources Wales - currently, cockle, mussel, and razor clam harvesting at Saundersfoot does not require consent, permission, or authorisation from the Welsh Government.
