Saundersfoot Sea Angling Club fished a six-hour rover last Sunday, sponsored by Jayne Tucker and Christopher Lee, of The Argosy, Saundersfoot. Beaches again failed to produce the results of the rock marks. Venues such as Pendine, Telpyn, Amroth and Coppet Hall produced nothing but school bass and a flounder; the winning anglers fished at Stackpole or Precept. Results: 1. James Canton with a thornback ray of 4.6kg (£100 and 10 points); 2. Tony O'Neill with a bag of LSD of 1.78 kg (eight points and £50); 3. Ben Cook with a bag of 1.68kg (six points and £20); 4. Ben Edwards with a bag of 1.08kg (four points). Golden Peg was Wes Markham who didn't compete. The pot continues to roll over and is currently over £180. The next SSAC matches are: Saturday and Sunday, July 14 and 15 - nine-hour night rover, sponsor to be confirmed (sign on at the Sports Club 11 pm, fishing midnight to 9 am, weigh-in at the Sports Club car park with the scales closing at 10 am prompt); Sunday, July 29 - Manorbier (sign on at Manorbier beach car park at 1 pm, fishing 2 - 6 pm, weigh-in at the same car park, with the scales closing at 6.30 pm prompt). Leaderboard after 10 matches: 1. James Canton 71 pts; 2. Tony O'Neill 40; 3. Rob Collins 35; 4. Wayne Williams 29; 5. Liam Ridgway 26.
