At the end of last year, Saundersfoot CP School lost 16 orchestra players as they moved on to Greenhill School - lucky Mr Rapi!   Suddenly, some very young players found themselves at the front having to lead their sections...and they did it with style. The school had a wonderful evening on Tuesday, May 13.  The orchestra were fantastic and every child worked hard to perform their solo and group items.  The evening began with the fabulous beginner recorders, violinists and 'cellists and moved through the evening finishing with very accomplished musicians. This year's awards were as follows: Beginner string player - Maeci Davies, Tegan Davis, Georgia Allen and Drew Croxford. Nina and Saskia Parker Trophy for most promising woodwind player - Esme Greer. Most improved woodwind player - Maya Dodkins and Annie Batten. Daniel Brewer award for brass playing - Chris Wood. Samantha and Hattie Attwell award for most promising string player - Edward Hurle. Katy Thomas award for most promising all-round musician - Harry Whitehurst. Angharad Thomas award for musical services to school - Cerys Swales. Mary Griffiths award for commitment to music - Beth Williams. The school would like to thank Hebron Baptist Chapel for their kind donation towards the beginner awards, the peripatetic music teachers for their unending enthusiasm and Mr. Chris Llewellyn for his commitment to the orchestra.
