SAIL TRAINING

Don't forget that whatever the weather the Sail Training and Saturday Club still takes place, your instructors are always there so please come along every week. Tomorrow Sail Training is from 0900 - 1200 hrs and Saturday Club from 1600 - 1900 hrs.

WHIST

Last Saturday was the first of the new evening playing and there were many eager to play their favourite game.

First lady went to V. Burrows and Second Lady to R. Baggott.

First gent was R. Jones and second gent was W. Thomas.

B. Whitaker was the lowest score and G. Johns the longest sitter.

We will always welcome more players so please come along and join us, doors open at 7 pm and game starts prompt at 7.30 pm.

SUNDAY RACING

Racing was abandoned last Sunday because conditions were unsuitable. Mick and Jessica had already taken the rib out on the water to do patrol duties and kindly agreed to stay out for a while to keep an eye on two our very experienced sailors who were already rigged and keen to sail.

Unfortunately another dinghy also took to the water and their lack of experience was soon evident. Luckily our patrol was able to assist and all ended well.

This Sunday there is the first of the Frostbite series with the race start scheduled for 10 am. Although the forecast is not good, a decision will be made in the hour before the start as to whether or not it is safe to take to the water. Fingers crossed.

SOCIAL EVENTS

I must firstly apologise for my error in a date last week, today I will get it right! Friends of Saundersfoot School are organising two events to be held in the clubhouse. They are: Friday, October 19 (corrected date) a team quiz night at 7.30 pm and Thursday, November 1, a Body Shop party starting at 7.30 pm.

November 10 - Prizegiving/Sail Training Awards and Laying-up supper.

November 17 - annual general meeting.

December 1 - Dinner dance at the Cambrian Hotel.
