Lifeboat Week in Saundersfoot which ran from July 29 to August 3 was a very busy week, with members collecting at the Co-operative Food Store in Kilgetty and Tesco Express in Saundersfoot. Other members manned the souvenir stalls on Saundersfoot Harbour.

The following amounts were collected: Co-op collection £639.01; Tesco collection £516.36; Trevayne Farm £49.90; one member did a village collection £105.96; stall box £76.79; Whirligig £99.43. Total boxes and buckets - £1,487.45.

This gave a grand total of £2,119.45.

Saundersfoot Committee would like to thank the Harbour Managers and Harbour Commissioners for giving their permission to collect on the harbour the Co-operative Food Store and Tesco Express for allowing members to collect at their stores, also to Denis Reed for inviting us to sell ‘our wares’ at his Strawberry Tea. Thanks also go to the people of Saundersfoot, and the surrounding areas, and all the holidaymakers for their generous contributions.

On Sunday, August 11, we were delighted to welcome back The Carmarthen Ukulele Band who once again attracted the crowds and a bucket collection taken at the event totalled £240.

Our next event will be a concert by The Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir. This will be at The Regency Hall Saundersfoot on Thursday, September 5, at 7.30 pm. This has been a regular event for the last few years and always proves very enjoyable and entertaining. Tickets are available at The Regency Hall or pay at the door.

Future events for your diaries are our Fish and Chip Supper at The Boathouse Restaurant, Saundersfoot, on Friday, October 11, and our autumn Coffee Morning on November 7, also in The Boathouse Restaurant.
