The monthly meeting of the Saundersfoot RNLI branch was held recently at the Sports and Social Club, Saundersfoot.
It was reported that the second Brew for the Crew event, held at Saundersfoot Sailing, had been another successful afternoon, with almost £200 being raised. The bric-a-brac stalls held during August had resulted in sales of £420.
The souvenir stall has now finished for the season. Pam reported that the souvenir sales, year to date, are in excess of £4,500. While this amount is lower than last year, everyone felt that this was an excellent achievement, especially given the limited number of days the stall was able to open during the summer.
A number of the committee members attended the farewell party at the Regency Hall and several even managed to get some dancing practice for the forthcoming tribute night!
Plans for the forthcoming coffee morning were finalised. It will be held on Thursday, October 25, at the Gower Hotel, from 10.30 - noon. The price remains at £1.50 for coffee and biscuits. A raffle will be held and a range of Christmas cards, calendars and diaries will be on sale.
The next fundraising event will be the Neil Diamond tribute night with Rob Leigh at the RAOB Club in Kilgetty, on Friday, October 12.
Rob Leigh (pictured) started singing in the late '60s and played through the '70s as a member with various bands until the early '80s when he decided on a solo career as a guitar vocalist. Having been compared to Neil Diamond vocally for many years by audiences, Rob decided to establish the tribute show. This promises to be a great evening with some Beautiful Noise! Tickets are £10 each and are available from the club, Bumper to Bumper and via committee members Pauline (01834) 813128 and Sam on 811661.
The next committee meeting will be held on October 17 at noon.
