A spectacular scale model of Saundersfoot's St. Issell's Church has been made by Year 4 pupils at the village's school.

The 1:25 scale model was constructed by pupils for their Year project on Saundersfoot.

As part of their technology work looking at materials, the children kicked off their model-making with a visit to the village's parish church when they took measurements and photographs and made models of the stained glass windows and main doorway.

Working back at school, the children then took the photographs as a starting point for detailed drawings and models.

Using cardboard and locally found materials, including stones from the coastal area, sand from the beach and wood from the Hean Castle Estate, the finished model, complete with working lights, was constructed by Mr. Mick Booth and Mrs. Gill Priestland.

The finished model was presented to the rector of St. Issell's, Canon Michael Butler, for display in the church.
