On Sunday, the preacher was Rev. Anthony Gregory. In the reading from 1st Corinthians, chapter 10, verses 1-12, Paul is reminding his readers of what happened to the Israelites in the desert because they had turned from God. He says these things were written down as a warning to them (and to us). A similar warning to turn from sin comes in the reading from Luke 13, verses 1-9. But the parable of the fig tree is there also, to tell us that God is patient with us. The service this Sunday morning at 11 am will take the form of a 'Songs of Praise'.
