The Saundersfoot Bay Heritage Land Train will be back operating this Sunday after a slight hitch last weekend when it was temporarily taken off the road due to a problem with one of the carriage’s wheels (see picture above).

The carriage was returned to Edwards Coaches so that a full repair could be carried out with full checks.

The Land Train named ‘Rosalind’ after the last engine to bring men and materials to the harbour from the local mines, carries up to 20 people at time on its 30-minute journey.

“I am pleased to say that the Saundersfoot Heritage Land Train will be back operating as planned from this weekend on Sunday, but not on the Saturday due to the Long Course cycle race road closures,” said Michael Slade on behalf of Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism and Saundersfoot Village Working Party.

Anyone wishing to take a journey will be able to listen out for it’s distinctive ‘Toot toot’ as it climbs up and around the hills of the village, operating Saturday and Sundays until July 13, then daily from July 20 to Sunday, September 1.
