For Jubilee Week, Saundersfoot has planned a full programme of events, starting this (Friday) evening with a concert by the Griffon Choir at St. Issell's Church and culminating in the spectacular 'Proms in the Park' concert next Friday.
Throughout the week, Saundersfoot Sailing Club will be holding their regatta, with races held daily according to the tides.
A Craft Exhibition will run from Monday to Friday in the Thomas Memorial Hall, open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm.
Visitors to the Methodist Church over the Bank Holiday weekend will find a special floral art exhibition, entitled 'Jubilation'. The display starts today (Friday) and is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, ending on Tuesday, June 4.
A Jubilee Charity Market will be held on the Harbour tomorrow. It will run from 11 am until 5 pm and include stalls by the RNLI, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Saundersfoot School, Badger Support Group, The Cancer Research Group, Saundersfoot Inner Wheel and the Alzheimer's Association.
On Sunday there will be a Jubilee Service at St. Issell's Church, 10 am. A Fun Day at Regency Hall includes a Senior Citizen's Lunch at 1 pm, featuring bingo and entertainment, and two discos; one at 4 pm for seven years and under, and another at 6.30 pm for the over sevens.
Also on Sunday, a Rotary Club Duck Race will take place from 2.30 pm to 5 pm, and from 3 pm to 4 pm, Crusaders Beach Club will be providing an active hour of magic tricks, songs, quizzes and painting by the harbour, unless it is wet, in which case activities will be held at Hebron Baptist Church.
The Crusaders Beach Club activities continue every day from Monday to Friday, with beach games and children's sport in the morning (10.30 to 11.30) and more magic tricks, songs, quizzes and painting in the afternoon (2-3 pm).
On Monday evening, people can enjoy dancing on the harbour with live music, from 8 pm until late, with the lighting of the beacon taking place at 9.45 pm prompt.
Tuesday brings more special events to Saundersfoot, including a Rotary Club Sand Castle Competition on the beach from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. This will be followed by a Teddy Bear's Picnic organised by the Crusaders Beach Club, who invite children to bring their teddy bear and their family. Judging will take place at 1 pm and the event finishes at 1.30 pm. Should the weather be unfavourable, the picnic will be postponed until the next suitable day.
As an alternative, or addition, to dining with teddy bears, St. Brides Hotel will be holding a 'Garden Party'; arrivals at 1 pm for a 1.30 start.
Tuesday ends with a performance by the Tenby Brass Band on Saundersfoot Harbour at 6 pm.
The activities of the Beach Crusaders, the Sailing Club Regatta, the performances of 'South Pacific' and the two exhibitions of craft and flowers continue until Friday. In addition to all this, the St. Issell's Ladies will be serving strawberries and cream on the harbour from 2 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday.
Saturday afternoon sees the last hour of Crusaders Beach Club fun, from 3 pm to 4 pm, and the Sailing Club Coppet Week Regatta reaches its conclusion.
A fitting finale to a busy Jubilee week in Saundersfoot comes in the shape of 'Proms in the Park', with the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra, to be held on the King George Playing Fields, 7 pm until late. There will be fireworks at 9.30 pm. Tickets are available in advance for the price of £7.50 and can be obtained from Evans Newsagents, The Cavalier Restaurant and St. Brides Hotel.
