Sir,

On August 16 my wife suffered severe back injuries following a fall from the Quay side at Saundersfoot. Your publication produced a report covering the incident which involved our 27ft yacht "Goshawk."

We would like to take this opportunity in thanking all those involved in the care of my wife, Wendy Johnston, from her removal from the yacht to her after care at Carmarthen Hospital.

I could leave the matter without further comment, however this would not reflect my family's true feelings concerning the local people of Saundersfoot. At the time of the incident, and over the several weeks that followed, I was overwhelmed by the amount of people that showed genuine support for us. From people offering their sympathy, to numerous people offering their time in any way required, I have been left feeling that Saundersfoot is a very special place for my family. There are a few people that I would like to publicly thank, they are Basher Hart, David Richards, Butch and not forgetting Peter Scourfield (Harbour Master) whose service was exemplary and went far beyond what his post required.

To date, Wendy is making progress but unfortunately her operation has not been fully successful and we await further tests and examinations to give us a path forward. Again I would like to say a big thank you from us all, and we look forward to visiting Saundersfoot in the near future and to seeing as many of those kind people as possible.
