On Thursday, July 3, the Inner Wheel Club of Saundersfoot held its annual handover dinner at the St. Brides Spa Hotel. President Olive welcomed everyone. A short business meeting was held and president Olive had the pleasure of installing honorary member Pam Harley as a full-time active member of the club. President Olive then thanked all the officers and club members for their help and support during her year as president, 2007-2008. Flowers were presented to outgoing treasurer Ros Griffiths and Trevena Vincent, speaker secretary. President Olive thanked them both for all their hard work for the club. Olive then thanked the new incoming treasurer, Mandy Rees, and social secretary, Pam Richardson. She also presented Linsey and Andrew Evans with a flower arrangement for the hotel to thank them for their very kind hospitality to the Inner Wheel Club during the past year. Sue Williams, club secretary, then presented Olive with a bouquet of flowers as she takes up the presidency of the club for a second term of office. All the Inner Wheel members are very grateful to Olive to give over her time and energy for another hectic year. During May, the club had a very informative and enjoyable visit to the Tenby Lifeboat Station, where they had a conducted tour by Stephen Lowe, fulltime mechanic. The club then made a donation to the RNLI. In June, the club members provided refreshments to the cyclists who were taking part in the first cycle tour of Pembrokeshire, which was a great success and which it is hoped will be repeated next year. The next fund-raising event for local charities will be a table-top stall on the harbour in Saundersfoot on Thursday, July 31, from 10 am - please support.
