The Inner Wheel Club of Saundersfoot met at the St. Brides Spa Hotel for their March meeting when the chair was taken by vice-president Olive Spence, as president Viv Williams was unable to attend. A short business meeting was held to discuss arrangements for the club outing to Scolton Manor in April. Members made arrangements to attend two charity luncheons being held by Inner Wheel Clubs of Tenby and Narberth and Whitland in March. An invitation had been received from the Inner Wheel Club of Haverfordwest to join them at their 60th Charter Anniversary Dinner in April; two members agreed to attend. Three members travelled to a charity coffee morning held by the Inner Wheel Club of Llandeilo on Friday and said how much they had enjoyed it, with lively entertainment given by local school children. Three members also attended the No. 15 Inner Wheel District committee meeting on Saturday at the Aberavon Beach Hotel. Pembroke born Julie Cooper was the guest speaker for the evening. She told about her very interesting 22 years spent in the Army, joining as a novice cook and working all the way up to becoming the only lady Master Chef in the Army during her service, finally obtaining an MBE for her services to catering. She had had many postings all over the world and her interest in sport had won her a place in the Army swimming team. Ingrid Winstanley thanked Julie on behalf of the club for sharing with the members her very interesting experiences. The next meeting will be a visit to Scolton Manor on April 5.
