Saundersfoot Festivities are putting on another charity night in Saundersfoot on August 9 at the Regency Hall following the recent success of their last two events. Nearly £7,000 has been given out to local charities raised from concerts organised by the Festivities, who are delighted to be staging another evening of entertainment. The main beneficiaries of this latest event will be the Breast Cancer organisation, with Dai Lawrence and Mandy, of the Chemist Inn, receiving the money on behalf of the charity. Dai has even got all the staff to have a pink theme on the night to get everyone in the mood. The other organisation to benefit will be Keith Williams in aid of Saundersfoot Footlights. Tenby Junior Football Club will also receive a cheque to put to equipment in aid of the many teams they run. The band for the evening will be The Retros who cover music from the '60s and '70s up to the present day. The band is based in London and last year they played at the Reading festival in front of 9,000 people. DJ Billy will support with his disco, and hot food will be available through the night, provided by Julie, of Manorbier Tea Gardens. Roger and Barbara will be responsible for the bar at the Sports Club, where another bar will be provided for the evening. Compere for the evening will be Benny Bond. Dress theme for the evening will be based on Beach Boys gear, or, as those attending will be raising money for breast cancer, it was also thought a good idea would be to dress in pink! Tickets are the same price as before and will be available from - Chemist Inn, Wogan Guest House, Saundersfoot Sports Club, Saundersfoot Post Office, Evans Newsagents and Jo Morris at Saundersfoot Surgery from today (Friday). Please get your tickets early as there are only a limited number available, as the last event could have sold another 200 tickets. Local musician Butch will also be performing from one of the Chemist Inn's beer gardens from 5 pm on the Saturday afternoon in a pink Elvis costume, in aid of Breast Cancer.
