Saundersfoot in Bloom volunteers have been busy around the village and behind the scenes, sprucing up the seaside resort ready for the summer season.

Although Saundersfoot has decided not to enter the annual Wales in Bloom floral contest this year, there is still plenty of activity around to get the green-fingered volunteers and community busy for the season, as well as a wealth of floral shows and competitions to enjoy.

A spokesperson for Saundersfoot in Bloom shared: “The flower planters on The Strand, High Street and the troughs on Brewery Terrace are a riot of colour to enjoy and the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot displays are radiant!

“As ever, deep felt thanks to all the volunteers who gave their time to prep, plant and clean up, and we are hugely appreciative to Saundersfoot Community Council for keeping the flowers well watered.”

Next up in the calendar is the 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and the chance to 𝗡𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻 - with entry forms now available.

Judging will take place in the third week of July - both are free to enter with classes for residential and business entries.

Entry forms are available now from The Salty Spaniel, Ecoast Pembrokeshire, The Shoe Box Saundersfoot and the Library at the Regency Hall.

“You don't need to have a Show Garden, we'd love you to show us your garden and what you love about gardening,“ continued the spokesperson.

“You can also use the form to nominate a ‘front garden’. Do you pass one that makes you smile? Or have a neighbour's garden that brightens up your street? Tell us!

Then from August 5 to 9 at St Issells Church, from 10 am to 5 pm, the much loved 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡 will return when the church fills up with floral displays from community groups and organisations and the School Room serves refreshments and cake.

The wonderful Côr y Môr will be performing again for the event and there'll be various art and craft activities going on through the week - with more information to follow soon.

“We are incredibly grateful to Saundersfoot Rotary for sponsoring our advertising for this event and to Saundersfoot Bay Leisure Park for sponsoring a roller banner that we can use at our fundraising events,” they continued.

“Our Flower Festival in August will be hard to miss with advertising sponsored by Saundersfoot Rotary! We are incredibly grateful to Rotarians for their support, their sponsorship not only helps us spread the word but also strengthens community spirit.”

Harbwr Bar & Kitchen Saundersfoot were also kind enough to host a Coffee Morning recently and by doing so helped raise £143 towards plants for the village!

“A huge thanks to the Harbwr staff for the support and to all who supported us on the day with coffees and buying raffle tickets.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone to St Issells Church from August 5th to 9th for Seaside Sensibility,” they added.

With no Wales in Bloom entry - ‘Saundersfoot Wombles’ - the beach cleaning / litter picking group, and the Sensory Garden have been touted to enter the RHS ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood’ contest.
