The presentation to the prize winners of the Saundersfoot in Bloom garden competition took place at St. Brides Hotel Spa on Monday night, by kind permission of Mr Andrew Evans.
Judges for the competition were - Mrs Linda Titterton, Mr Hugh Scale and Mr Bryan Harries who had a very difficult task in choosing the winners.
The prizes were presented by the newly elected chairman of Saundersfoot Community Council, Cllr Dean Ludlow.
The winners were Private Houses, with The Patel Cup presented to Mrs Ann Lewis for the Best Garden Visible from the road; and second prize and the Hayes Shield going to Mrs Anne Morris, of 1 Hean Close.
Best forecourt without garden and the Anne Thomas cup was won by Mrs. Raydene Deakin Alray.
Best display, window boxes tubs etc and The Saundersfoot in Bloom shield was won by Mrs Michelle Evans of 22 Castle View, with second prize for the Valley Tavern cup, going to Mrs. Diane Rigden of 11 North Close.
Best senior citizens garden and the RAOB Shield went to Mr and Mrs R. Brace of 1 Vineyard Vale; with Mrs Ann Lewis of 18 North Close, second.
Best garden not visible from the road for the Barbara Shuck memorial shield saw Mrs Jo Balkwill of 16 Ocean Point come first, and Mrs Lyn Kelly of 3 Castle View second.
Best vegetable garden went to Mr Gethin Evans of 22 Castle View, with Mrs Jo Balkwill second.
In the trade section Saundersfoot Bay Leisure Park won the Patel Shield for the best display of hanging baskets, window boxes etc; with Saundersfoot Vintage Antiques coming second who won the Shrublands Shield.
