The presentation of prizes to the winners of Saundersfoot in Bloom’s garden competition took place recently at St. Brides Hotel Spa, courtesy of Mr. Andrew Evans.

In the absence of the chairman of the community council, the prizes were presented by vice-chairman Clr. Anthony Mattick.

Recipients of the prizes were:

Best garden visible from the road: 1. Mr. John Archer, 11 Bevelin Hall; 2. Mrs. Gwen Deakin, Argoed, The Ridgeway.

Best forecourt without garden: 1. Mrs. Raydene Deakin, Alray, The Ridgeway; 2. Mrs. Tessa Pearson, Valley Farm.

Best display window boxes, tubs and hanging baskets: 1. Mrs. Michelle Evans, 22 Castle View; 2. Nikki Nelson, Flat 1, The Old Brewery, Brewery Terrace.

Best senior citizens garden: 1. Mrs. Ann Wright, 64 Scandinavia Heights; 2. Mrs. Dianne Jones, Ardwyn, Wogan Terrace.

Best garden not visible from the road: 1. Mr. Phillip Brace, 47 Sandy Hill Park; 2. Mrs. T. Pearson, Valley Road.

Best vegetable garden: Lynne Reyed, Green Folds, Westfield Road.

Best premises with window boxes, tubs and hanging baskets: The Leys Caravan Park.

Best overall display visible from the road: 1. Sunnyvale Caravan Park; 2. Kate Lewis, Wogan House.

Best display retail premises with clubs, institutions etc: 1. Sarah Churchill, Saundersfoot Harbour Commission; 2. Ocean Hair, Brewery Terrace.

Best overall commercial property: Sunnyvale Caravan Park.

The judges, who had a very difficult task, were Duncan Hilling, Keith Avis, Alwen James and Brian Harries. The committee wish to thank everyone who entered the competition.
