The annual prize-giving for Saundersfoot in Bloom took place at St. Brides Hotel by kind permission of Andrew and Lyndsay Evans.
Vice-chairman Mrs. Joan Allen gave a warm welcome to everyone present and thanked all those who had helped with the recent flower festival at St. Issell's Church.
She then introduced the chairman of Saundersfoot Community Council, Clr. Don Poole, who presented the prizes.
Best garden visible from the road: 1. Mr. and Mrs. John Archer, 11 Bevelin Hall; 2. Sian Griffiths, Llys Melyn, Stammers Lane.
Best window boxes, hanging baskets and tubs: 1. Lesley Kidney, Squirrels Leap; 2. Bob Thomas, 9 Ridgeway Close.
Best senior citizens garden: 1. Mrs. B. Jones, Bali Hi, Valley Road; 2. Raydene Deakin, Alray.
Best garden not visible from the road: 1. Tessa and Jeff Pearson, Valley Farm; 2. Mr. C. J. Preece, White Gates, Stammers Road.
Best public house: 1. Captains Table; 2. Royal Oak.
Best hotel/guest house: 1. Mr. and Mrs. J. Williams, Wogan Guest House; 2. Mrs. Lilian Lang, Edgecombe Guest House.
Best overall display: The Lighthouse Restaurant; 2. Mrs. I. Scourfield, Marina Milkmaid.
Best club etc: 1. Sunny Vale Caravan Park; 2. Saundersfoot Bowling Club.
Best group project: 1. 5-10 Westfield Court; 2. Sardis Road.
Best overall commercial property: Sunny Vale Caravan Park.
Part of the proceeds of the flower festival were presented to Rev. Canon Michael Butler for the Children's Society.
