ST. ISSELL'S 80 (4 pts)
ST. KATHS 82 (10)
St. Issell's entertained St. Kath's of Milford last Sunday in a Pembrokeshire League division two encounter.
Having defeated their opponents from across the water earlier in the season, hopes were high for the double, but it was not to be, St. Issell's losing by just two shots.
On rink two, John Bingham, Bob Wood, Don Stokes and Mike Carr restricted their opponents to winning just eight ends in registering an 11-shot win.
Rink three saw Brian McKehon, Geoff Vigus, Roy Pring and Keith Rowlands come from 10 shots down after 10 ends to lead by three shots entering the last, but dropping a four led to a one-shot defeat.
Mike Oliver, John Austin, Bill Glynn and Barrie Lee on rink four led by eight shots at one stage, but losing the last three ends reduced their winning margin to four.
On rink five, Dave Williams, Dennis Reed, Brian Deeley and Derek Rowen were nine shots down after just five ends and struggled to recover, eventually down by 16.
Disappointed as they were, the St. Issell's lads will be buoyed by the return of captain Stew Howe for the remainder of the season and will be hoping for better results in this weekend's two games.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to John Jenkins on winning the Pembrokeshire over 60s singles title last Saturday.
In a tough encounter against Stuart King-Thomas, of Pendine, John recovered from 10 shots down to edge home 21-19.
This is the second time in three years that John has won this event and will now travel to Llandrindod Wells next month to represent the county in the national finals.
John was also due to partner Alan Brace in the over 60s pairs final, but due to the inclement weather, this was postponed until last night.
Here's hoping that there will be more good news to report next week!
