Saundersfoot's Ann Lewis and Ceris Hewlings have been celebrating retaining their places in the Welsh international squad. Ann, this year's county president, will be making her 20th appearance at the Home International Series' when she steps on the green at Belmont Bowling Club, Belfast, next month, while Ceris made her debut in the side last year. Ann will skip Caroline Taylor (Berriew), new cap Morfydd Rees (Lampeter) and Wendy Morris (Port Talbot) in the series from June 14-20. A former junior international, Ceris, meanwhile, will play second in Anne Greenaway's rink. She will be joined by Jealian Willis (Port Talbot) and Margaret Hopkins (Llandrindod Wells). And, of course, the Welsh team will be led onto the green by the president, Ann and Ceris's friend and fellow county bowling colleague, Julia King Thomas, of Tenby. Both the senior and junior international series' will be the highlight of Julia's year in office. But she's no stranger to these prestigious bowling events, for Julia donned the red colours of Wales herself when she played in the Welsh team between 1992 and 1996.
