Hopefully everyone will have recovered enough from the Christmas festivities, ready to face the onslaught of the New Year ones. You have a couple of days now to let the body get back to normal. I am sure you will have eaten enough and drunk enough anyway, but come New Year's Day and those that are heading for the swim will need to be cleansed of all that rubbish they have been taking. I hope you will all be coming along to either join me in the swim or at least to watch me take the plunge? What do you mean you don't believe me. The thing is, I don't like the publicity, so I go in before anyone else is up and about, manage to swim a couple of miles and then get back and change before 'er indoors' even realises I have gone out (well, I can dream, can't I). As usual, the club will be open after the swim. Anyone wishing to warm themselves up after standing in the cold, will be more than welcome, and surprise, surprise, the bar might be open to let you have drink, if you really want one. So you know where to go when the fun is over.

EXTRAORDINARY GEnERAL MEETING

An EGM has been called in the club on Wednesday, January 3, at 7 pm. This is to have the club books, which have now been duly audited, and the bar account presented to members. It is hoped that as many members as possible will make the effort to attend. A minimum of 20 members are required to sign in, in order for the meeting to open. Please come along, so that your questions or queries regarding the accounts can be answered.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

And just in case I am too cold after my swim and I don't see you around the village, can I take this opportunity of wishing you and yours a happy New Year. And, as we would say in Scotland, 'Lang May Yer Lum Reek' - translations available at a small cost, send SAE etc.
