The Saundersfoot Ladies are holding a team meeting on Tuesday, February 1, in the pavilion at 7 pm, for the purpose of selecting their team captain for the coming season. All ladies who are members of that team are asked to attend.

WHIST EVENING

On a bitterly cold night, the whisters showed their support for the club by turning out in their usual cheerful numbers and with six tables running, there was some close scoring. Taking the honours as top scorer was Gladys Irvine. Not close enough to cause problems, but enough to get first lady was Rene Baggot. Her closest rival was Hilda Hardie as second lady. Glad of the chance to get in amongst the money, Dave Robb took first gent, with 'old money bags' Graham Brace taking second spot. The Robb family were in the money as Margaret claimed the first half top scorer. The second half claimant was Bill Whittaker. The booby prize went to Vera Burrows, who managed to drag herself out of her plush room at the Giltar for the occasion. Taking longest sitter for the night was Megan Shanklyn. The evening raffle prizes were claimed by Hilda Hardie, with Frank and Heather Buckley grabbing the other two. All players are reminded that starting from next week, whist will be starting at 7.15 pm, instead of 7.30, please make sure you set your alarm folks!
