It felt as if we had waited donkeys ages for the outdoor season to start, and then it is if the floodgates had opened and teams were playing every other night. The first team were playing two games a week, and now they find themselves, with a couple of weeks of nothing, St Issells have had two games, and then they are down to playing two or three games a week. Likewise the ladies are the ones who seem to have very little, if any, spare time, with two and three games on the green every week. I am sure that the persons who works out the fixture lists, for both ladies and gents, must be mashocists!
Still no moaning, just heads down and lets get on with it.

MILFORD 34
Hoping to carry on with their winning ways, the ladies of Saundersfoot took on the might of Milford, and were delighted to come back with all the points. Unfortunately the Milford ladies had to lose a quarter of their rink score on the one rink, allowing the Saundersfoot girls to get maximum score.
Rink scores were (Saundersfoot first, Milford skips only):
A. Evans, M. Cummings, L. Bissell, M. Evans 19; J. Navas 15 (for a quarter of score).
A. Davies, P. Richards, V. Edwards, B. White 23; M. Carter 19.
ST THOMAS 58
ST ISSELL'S 77
The second game of the Brewers Cup campaign saw St Issell's off to Haverfordwest to meet up with old friends St Thomas.
It's always an enjoyable game between these two teams, with loads of banter flying around the green, which helps to make the evening an enjoyable occasion.
Scores went as follows (St Issell's first with St Thomas skips only):
B. Deeley, P. Bissell, S. Arris, D. Robb 11; L. Frayling 18.
M. Gouldingay, D. Greaves, J. Jones, A. Brace 15; P. Jenkins 18.
D. Stokes, D. Howells, J. Moffatt, J. Dugmore 31; H. Davies 11.
G. Cavell, J. Austin, J. Shields, D. Roberts 20; R. Harries 11.
During this game the locals were in a bit of a tizzy, they could hear some funny noises, but could not figure out where they were coming from. A few of the members went as far as starting to empty the shed where they keep the green equipment, thinking there was perhaps a cat or, what was the popular thought, a snake, hiding. The sound was a sort of hissing, rustling noise.
Just as one brave soul was about to enter the 'lair', one of the players cottoned on to the source of the problem. It seems that John Dugmore had forgotten his white trousers, and trying not to let captain Dave Robb notice, had slipped his wet weather overtrousers on over his greys. Hence the rustling type noise, I will not embarrass John with the various comments in print. Suffice to say, I am sure he will ensure that Gloria packs his white next time.

ST BRIDES 81
CASTLE 71
I am not one to say 'I told you so' but what the heck in this case I will. A couple of weeks ago, I said that St Brides would scare someone soon because the team spirit would carry them, and last week it was Castle who came a cropper. A marvellous sporting game, with a great atmosphere, saw St Brides pick up their first league win. They are still trying to sober Captain John Lawrence up from his celebrations!
Scores (St Brides first, Castle Skips only):
N. Griffiths, J. Bingham, J. John, J. Lawrence 16; T. Chalmers 19.
L. Waters, B. Berry, P. Sampson, M. Brewer 26; W. Hall 19.

Both teams served up an exciting match, the home team getting, the 10 points, to the visitors four.
