A wooden arch depicting the history of village life has been created in Sardis.
Scuplted by Simon Hedger, the arch is part of the Sardis Parks and Gardens ongoing project to enhance the village environment.
It has been made possible through funding from the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (ENFYS), while money for the general maintenance of the scheme has come from the Pembrokeshire Action for Voluntary Service (PAVS).
The roadside verges have been planted with flowers and the next stage of the project will to put up bat boxes in the woodland areas, which have been funded by Whitbread Action Earth.
With one of the main aims of the whole project to get villagers to share in activities, local residents, together with Kath Morgan, of the Princes Trust Cymru, assisted Mr. Hedger in building the arch last Thursday and were also able to carve illustrations on sections of the structure themselves.
