A Christmas cracker of a day is planned starting with top local DJ Steve Briers who will be on hand throughout the afternoon to keep the Christmas atmosphere swinging with plenty of festive favourites
Seren School of Irish Dancing will be performing from 1.30 to 2 pm, before the Salvation Army band and Tenby Friendship Group take over to lead community carol singing in Tudor Square.
More dance displays, this time with a more contemporary feel, will be provided by the Kelly Williams School of Dance from 2.30 to 3 pm before talented local singer Laura Morgan takes to the stage with her modern Country repertoire.
Tenby’s own ‘Voice of an Angel’ Sam Skyrme will then take the stage to lead the final build up to the arrival of Father Christmas.
Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Tony Brown will set off down to Tenby Lifeboat Station to join the crew of the Hayden Miller as they launch at 4 pm to head out to sea to meet Father Christmas in the bay.
The Hayden Miller lifeboat will then bring Santa and the Mayor back on shore before boarding the inshore lifeboat to be towed into Tudor Square through a festive flurry of snow from the roof of Tenby House Hotel (weather permitting) to turn on the lights on the town Christmas tree in the grounds of St Mary’s Church.
Following this, the trio will be conveyed by thetown’s fire crew up to the De Valence where there will be entertainment provided by Loopy Lew’s Magic and Mayhem Show, with Father Christmas also welcoming children into his grotto.
The Christmas merriment in the town will continue the week after with Tenby Round Table hosting their ever-popular Senior Citizen’s Christmas dinner in the De Valence on Wednesday, December 4.
The Tablers will then stage their ever-popular Santa Run on Sunday, December 8.
Of course, the festive fun does not stop on December 25 either as it wouldn’t be the Christmas season without the annual braving of the briny at the Boxing Day swim from the North Beach - this year with a ‘climate change’ theme for its fancy dress.
