Sir, Re. the extensive amount of time and coverage devoted to the accident involving Tenby's horse and carriage, may I direct councillors' and readers' attention to a road in Tenby where an accident is virtually 'waiting to happen'? Tried standing outside the Junior School at 3 pm lately? Tried weaving your way with a toddler and a five-year-old between prams, scooters and footballs, nine inches away from cars, buses and lorries? Now remind me how many extra pupils are expected to join the new Welsh school. May we assume that a wider pavement has been included in the plans? If not, I highly recommend a school pick-up service operated by a horse and carriage, with a nice lady walking ahead to warn of its approach. What a pity cars couldn't employ the same method, and the world would be a safer place, particularly for our children!
June Howell,
Penally, Tenby.
