A special seminar to mark European Health and Safety Week has taken place in the E-Com Centre, Pembroke Dock. Entitled 'Build in Safety', the event was hosted by Pembrokeshire County Council and supported by the Health and Safety Executive, Pembrokeshire College and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. It was designed to bring into focus some of the health and safety concerns which continue to be responsible for deaths and major injuries which affect both individuals and organisations in the world of construction. Sound practical advice was given by the speakers, making this event worthwhile to all those who attended and recognise the need to build in safety. Among the speakers were Bob Chesmer, of Texaco, who gave an address on 'Working at Height' and Hayley Jeremiah, a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Inspector (Construction) who spoke on 'Manual Handling Construction Materials'.
