Works to improve safety around Saundersfoot’s community play areas and sports facilities will continue after the summer.

Giving an update on matters, County Councillor for the village’s south ward Cllr Chris Williams said: “The works at the King George V Playing Grounds have been finished for the time being, the contractor has done an excellent job and will fix the fence in place after the summer holidays.

“Unfortunately the timing hasn’t been great but the job was completed early and the weather remained pretty miserable throughout the job.

“Phase 2 of the safety barriers will vastly improve safety from the park and I will keep all updated on developments on this.

“I would also say that there is a real emphasis from Saundersfoot Community Council to make considerable differences to the facilities on King George V grounds.

There is plenty of work needed to make sure the whole site is fit for purpose and that facilities can be improved for everyone.

“Hopefully the site could implement new projects for the community,” he added.
