Going to school has become much safer for children at a Pembrokeshire primary school.
Pupils at Narberth Community Primary School are benefiting from a range of safety measures thanks to Safe Routes in Communities funding.
Pembrokeshire County Council received £510,000 from the Welsh Government last year to spend on providing safe walking and cycling routes in the town.
Among the measures introduced are new and improved shared-use paths, safe crossings and traffic calming measures to encourage parents and their children to travel to school without using cars.
"Any moves to encourage people to walk or cycle more in their communities - in particular children travelling to and from school - are to be welcomed," said local County Councillor Elwyn Morse, who is also cabinet member for culture sport and leisure.
"As well as improving their health, it also makes for more alert pupils, while less traffic on the roads will also benefit the environment," he said.
Other measures introduced include the installation of a 20 mph speed limit outside the school and the erection of bollards to prevent cars parking on the verge outside the school.
A new path has also been installed linking the school to the nearby swimming pool.
