Sir,
Having spent many happy holidays in the Tenby/Saundersfoot area, my husband and I were very dismayed to find a sadly neglected small part of Tenby. I refer to the seating area at the bottom of the winding pathway to the Castle Beach off St. Julian's Street where two telephone boxes are at the top.
On the right-hand side there used to be two seats, now there is only one, and that is broken. On the left side, both seats are in good repair, but the whole of the ground area, both sides, is covered in a mound of dead leaves and branches, some litter, and looks dreadful. There is a litter bin in situ and is not overflowing. Also the rose bushes have grown so large that the view from the higher level seat on the left is now completely obliterated.
Please would some kind soul from the local council take a brush, shovel and bin liner to clean up the mess and repair and replace the seats and cut down the roses, so that once again local folk and visitors can sit and enjoy the scenery and fun on the beach.
One of our sons is coming on holiday in August and I hope to have a good report from him that the work has been carried out, so that when we return in September I shall be able to sit and enjoy myself, being very happy and grateful to someone!
Mrs. M. Atherton,
Staffordshire Moorlands.
