On the same evening, nine members of the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot joined Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Tenby at their meeting place in the Royal Lion Hotel to hear presentations from Katie Hudson and Kate Phillips following their completion of Rotary's RYLA (Rotary Young Leadership Award) course.

Katie Hudson had been sponsored to attend the course by the Rotary Club of Tenby and Kate Phillips by the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot.

The course is run in Brecon and participants are awarded places following an assessment interview. The course is very intense and tests participants' team building and leadership skills over a week of activities in different environments.

Katie and Kate gave an informed and enjoyable account of their experiences and were subsequently awarded RYLA certificates by Peter Oeppen, president of the Rotary Club of Tenby, and Neil Sefton, president-elect of the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot.
