A WEST Wales charity is looking for 60 enthusiastic runners to help swell its funds. Marie Curie Cancer Care, which has a regional fundraising office in Swansea, is hoping to recruit runners who are already pledged to run in the Swansea Bay 10K event taking place on September 21. "We know the Swansea Bay 10K is a hugely popular event and attracts hundreds of runners of all standards," said community fund-raising manager, Jane Griffiths. "Since Marie Curie is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year we should love to find 60 runners who are prepared to raise sponsorship for us." The money raised will provide free home nursing care for the terminally ill. "Every £20 raised provides an extra hour of care for the patient and help and support for family and friends," explained Jane. "We can offer plenty of background information, sponsorship forms and publicity material for runners taking part on our behalf."
