Last Sunday, Ann Thomas, a member of the St. Clears-based TROTS Running Club, ran the Lake Vynrwy Marathon in a time of three hours nine minutes, winning the title of Welsh female marathon champion. Just over a month ago she won the Welsh half-marathon title.
On Bank Holiday Monday, six TROTS ran the steep five-mile Dinas Head run. Dewi Jones was first male super-veteran, Ann Thomas female winner and Claire Cleathero second female in the open category.
Positions were as follows: Dewi Jones 4th, Ann Thomas 13th, Cyril Walters 15th, Dave Griffiths 18th, Claire Cleathero 19th and Mike Hodges 33rd.
At the Cardigan 10Km race, Dewi Jones was third and first male super-veteran.
Last week, there was a good turnout for the TROTS Dambuster 10Km race at the Llysyfran. TROTS won both male and female team awards. Claire Cleathero was the first female and Mary Bowen Rees first female veteran.
Results were as follows: Peter Griffith 4th, Dewi Jones 7th, Mike Evans 13th, Claire Cleathero 16th, Jim Kenworthy 17th, Ian Morris 18th, Cyril Walters 19th, Dave Griffiths 24th, Mary Bowen Rees 25th, Mike Hodges 35th, Tom Holliday 38th, Ann Rowell 45th, Helen Williams 47th, Pauline Thomas 48th, John Joseph 52nd, Adrian Varney 53rd, Tessa Cooper 59th and Jeanette Holliday 61st.
