DURING an Easter visit to the south of France, Greenhill sixth former Aled Griffiths met the towering six-foot six inch figure of French rugby captain, Fabien Pelous.

Aled, a keen sportsman, who plays rugby for Greenhill and Tenby United Youth XV, as well as cricket for Carew, went to watch Toulouse play rivals Pau in a French championship match and saw the European Cup finalists romp to a 55 point to 33 victory.

After the match, Aled and his dad, Mickey Griffiths were invited to meet the players in the post-match reception, enabling him to rub shoulders with the many French internationals from both teams, including Frederic Michalak and Xavier Garbajosa.

This weekend, the two are off again, this time to Dublin to cheer on the famous Toulouse team who are playing Perpignon in the final of the Heineken European Cup. Needless to say, they are hoping to bring them the same good luck as they did against Pau!
