IN 2009 it will be 60 years since Tenby's old Grammar School converted from soccer to rugby as its main game.
It is anticipated that a dinner will be held at the Giltar Hotel to commemorate the occasion. The date has been set for Easter Saturday, April 11, 2009.
Any boys who represented Tenby Grammar School between 1948 and 1960 at any level of rugby (i.e. Junior, 2nd XV or 1st XV) are welcome to attend. Fuller details of the dinner will be published later.
Thomas Nicholls is compiling a history of the time, inviting contributions from any old players who have photographs, newspaper cuttings, and also personal recollections of their playing days.
He is particularly keen to obtain the school magazine accounts of the years 1959 and 1960; also, a coloured photograph of a colours badge.
Relatives of 'boys' living away are asked to pass on this information. More news will follow at a later date.
Anyone who wishes to contact Mr. Nicholls can telephone him on 01834 844423 or e-mail [email protected]">[email protected]
