RSPCA Cymru has issued an appeal for information to try and track down the owner of a thoroughbred horse found in a poor condition in Carmarthenshire.

The bay gelding is around eight years old and was removed by the RSPCA from the Graig area of Burry Poer on Sunday, September 20.

He was found in an isolated field by RSPCA Inspector Holly Brown and is now safe in the charity’s care.

Now, RSPCA officers are keen to find out more about him. His microchip wasn’t registered so enquiries are being made to track down the owner.

RSPCA Deputy Chief Inspector Gemma Cooper said: “This thoroughbred was found in a poor condition and was thin.

“He has now been taken into our care for veterinary treatment.

“We don’t know who he belongs to so we’re issuing an appeal to help with enquiries. We’d also like to thank those members of the public who have called this in and we hope he will be able to make a full recovery.”
