As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), news was breaking of a Royal visit for South Pembrokeshire.
A diary entry posted on HRH The Prince of Wales's official website revealed he and the Duchess of Cornwall will be visiting Tenby as part of Pembrokeshire Fish Week on Wednesday, June 30.
Unfortunately, no more details of the forthcoming event were available, but it is hoped more information will be released for us to publish in our next issue.
The visit comes just under seven years since The Prince of Wales visited our own offices as part of the Tenby Observer's 150th anniversary celebrations.
In what was hailed by our proprietor, Sir Ray Tindle, as the 'greatest day in the history of the Tenby Observer' in July 2003, the heir to the throne toured the various departments of our offices in Warren Street, meeting staff and finding out how Pembrokeshire's oldest newspaper is produced.
His second visit in the resort that memorable day was to Tenby Museum and Art Gallery to mark their 125th anniversary.
The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall's second engagement on Wednesday, June 30, will be a visit to the Dyfed Powys Police Headquarters in Carmarthen where they will present long-service police medals.
Later, they will attend a performance by the Carmarthen and District Youth Opera at the Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen.
The day will conclude when the Prince of Wales, president, The Cambrian Mountains Initiative, and The Duchess of Cornwall will host a reception for the Cambrian Mountains Initiative at Llwynywermod, Myddfai, Llandovery.
