At the March monthly meeting of the Royal Engineers Association, Pembroke Dock branch, all the members stood in silent tribute to Mr. Stan Bittle who had recently passed away. Stan had been the steward for many years at the REOC club. Both he and his wife had given the REA branch a warm and friendly atmosphere to the club, which all members and visitors appreciated.
Following the tribute, the chairman, Eric Powling, gave a warm welcome to two new members, Mr. Roy Jones and Mr. Bill Kellaway, and presented them with a corps tie.
Members were asked to give serious thought to the format of the next annual dinner so that at the next meeting these thoughts could be given to the committee for action.
Several members volunteered to attend the wreath-laying and memorial service on April 25, at Freshwater West.
The next branch meeting will be held on Monday, April 26, the committee to meet at 6.45 pm prior to the branch meeting.
