Pembroke Rotary Club broke with tradition last week by giving a present rather than receiving one at their 55th birthday dinner.

The club made a £500 donation to the Pembroke Dock 'Anchorage Centre' to pay for their annual concert which had been threatened by a change of funding.

During the course of the dinner, speeches were made by the District Rotary Governor, Mr. Clayton Heycock, club president, Mr. David Grainger, and the president of Pembroke Inner Wheel Club, Mrs. Joan Cox.
