Michael Rye, district governor of the South Wales area of Rotary International, visited the Rotary Club of Narberth and Whitland and presented his banner, as he is in office during the year that Rotary International celebrates its 100 years of service. Michael congratulated the club on their achievements over the years, in particular the support given to the Polio Eradication Scheme. This project is the brainchild of Rotary International and is funded by Rotary Clubs throughout the world and administered by the W.H.O. Only a few remote countries still have polio as an endemic disease and it is hoped that the disease will be eradicated completely in the near future . The photo shows Michael presenting the banner to club president, Jean Watson.
