LOCAL adventurer, Rosie Swale Pope, has reached the next destination on her 20,000-mile round-the-world expedition. The 58-year-old grandmother has reached Ulan Ude, from where she will take a brief 'holiday' in Ulaan Bataar in Mongolia, before picking up her new visa. Rosie, who left her home in Tenby a year last October, is in good form and has completely recovered from her bout of pneumonia. Although the weather is very cold, Rosie says the conditions are better than last winter because the snow is much drier. Her next major stop after getting a new visa will be Chita.
