An planning application for a rooftop restaurant and games room at Tenby's Three Mariners Inn is being recommended for refusal.

Members of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park are being advised to turn down the proposal, for the summer-time facility in St. George Street, on the grounds that the development would be out of character with and detrimental to the grade II listed building, and does not conform to the acceptable standards of design in the National Park.

Other reasons for refusal include the plan being out of character with and detrimental to the appearance of the Tenby Conservation Area, while it is contrary to local plan policies and it would cause an unacceptable loss of privacy and amenity to adjoining properties.

Tenby Town Council have already lodged objections, while three letters of objection have also been received from members of the public.

The application, by Mr. K. May, is expected to come before the National Park's development control committee meeting on Wednesday.
