Luminita Berariu, who has delighted Pembrokeshire audiences over the past few years in Tenby, St. David's and Rhos-y-Gilwen Mansion, near Cilgerran, returns to Tenby this autumn.
In August she participated in the Edinburgh Festival, and has just completed a three-week tour with the Romanian National State Opera and Ballet companies in Thailand.
On Friday, October 11, she will be giving a Piano Recital in St. Johns Church, Tenby, at 8 pm.
The programme is broadly based and will have wide appeal featuring Schubert, Elgar, Enescu, Scriabin and Rachmaninov.
This is a chance to enjoy a virtuoso performer interpreting the music of her fellow countryman Enescu, as well as the formidable Rachmaninov Sonata No. 2 (if you know his second piano concerto - currently No. 1 in the Classic FM's 'Hall of Fame' - you will be amazed by the complexity and the pianistic originality of this sonata).
Following her recital, on Sunday, October 13, at 2 pm, she will be giving a master class, again in St. Johns Church, for vocalists young or old. This is supported by the Welsh Arts Council and is free. Members of the public will be welcome as audience/observers.
Before returning to Bucharest, Ms. Berariu will be giving a Piano Recital at the recently restored Dulwich Picture Gallery in London.
