Music duo The Sun Dogs - regularly seen on the live circuit in Tenby, Saundersfoot and the locality have been keeping the rock vibes going at home during ‘lockdown’ by releasing a collection of their favourite cover versions.

Singer guitarist Reuben Wilsdon Amos and drummer/percussionist John Honour, form the acoustic rock pair that are based in Kilgetty, and they have been jamming ‘virtually’ to put together a series of homemade videos of them performing some classics from their setlists as voted for by the public on social media.

“We’ve been releasing video covers over the last few weeks and getting local people involved by voting on their favourite track,” explained John.

“They’re going down a treat and it’s turned into a bit of a ‘thing’ and helped somewhat keep a ‘feel good’ vibe going during the lockdown.

“When the winning choice has been made, we’ve then produced a vid of the most popular track every week under The Sun Dogs ‘quarantine session’ poll winner.”

Some well-known tracks have been covered with ‘Jump’ by Van Halen going down a storm, while the band’s video for their version of Toto’s ‘Africa’ is also being included in a national segment by BBC Wales as part of a ‘best of Wales under lockdown’ video compilation they’re putting together.

You can view the vids and get voting at www.facebook.com/thesundogsofficial where the duo’s original songs are also available.
