At a recent community event held at the Village Hall, Sarah Hughes, local representative of the Body Shop at Home organisation, presented a range of cosmetics and accessories, using local resident, Ann Maidment as model.

The hall committee provided refreshments for the guests ranging in age from four years to the over 80s.

The hall provided an ideal location for such an evening, having been beautifully decorated with table flowers by Mrs. Hilda Thomas and various table lamps loaned by residents.

Purchases on the evening created a fund of over £50 for the hall account and several people joined up to the recently launched village 100 Club.

The first draw of the 100 Club is to be made at the July committee meeting and all residents are encouraged to sign up. The cost is £6 p.a. and there will be monthly draws, with a first prize of £15 and second of £10.

Interested parties are asked to can contact Jane on (01834) 860247, or can obtain membership from other committee members.

Funds raised by the 100 Club will provide much needed annual income for the hall ensuring its availability for local people at affordable rates.
